Tosin Adarabioyo Fires Chelsea To Thumping FA Cup Victory Over Morecambe
Chelsea booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Morecambe at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Tosin Adarabioyo (own goal) ensured the Blues progressed comfortably against their League One opponents.
Chelsea dominated possession from the outset and took the lead in the 18th minute when Mount fired home from close range after a neat passing move.
Ziyech doubled the advantage just before the half-hour mark with a stunning strike from outside the box.
Werner made it 3-0 in the 44th minute with a well-taken finish after being played through by Mount.
Morecambe offered little in attack but they did have a chance to pull a goal back in the second half when Aaron Wildig was put through on goal.
However, the Morecambe forward could only fire wide of the target.
Chelsea continued to press for more goals and they eventually got their fourth in the 79th minute when Adarabioyo turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Ziyech.
The win was Chelsea's third in a row in all competitions and it will give them confidence ahead of their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
